A Norwegian Breakfast Project

"What i like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce." | Karl Lagerfeld

Who said that breakfast is meant to be dull rather than imaginative and playful? A Norwegian photographer and artist, Ida Skivenes, decided to break the mold. Instead of the current trend of food photography she does the opposite. Skivenes creates exceptional and enticing art pieces using a plate as canvas and the breakfast ingredients as materials.

Skievens theme is versatile. In some of them she recreates famous works of art on top of toast bread and are part of a project titled “The Art Toast Project”. In others, she creates imaginative scenes featuring people and animals, landscapes and vegetations.

The intriguing part in this whole project is that food has the leading part. Skivenes first comes up with the breakfast she would like to eat and then let the ingredients to inspire her. She shares the photographs of her eatable artwork at her instagram account for the rest of the world to see.
